PED Warning For Ontario Pork Producers And Truckers

There's only been one new on-farm PED diagnosis confirmed in Ontario since July.

However, Ontario Pork reports surveillance has shown increased PED virus detection at federal and provincial processing plants.

Ontario Pork is advising producers and truckers consider processing facilities, abattoirs and assembly yards as high risk for PED transmission .

They're encouraged to take appropriate biosecurity precautions when dealing with those facilities.
