CFIA Starting To Audit PigTrace

Ontario Pork is alerting producers that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has started conducting audits of PigTrace.

The mandatory pig traceability program started in July of 2014.

The provincial pork organisation has developed a program called AgManifest, which automates and streamlines producers shipment and traceability information.

It also provides real time, auditable tracking through the delivery chain.

Sofina and Conestoga Meat Packers are now able to receive loads electronically through AgManifest.

Ontario Pork is encouraging producers to work with their transports to switch from paper receipts to electronic manifests through the AgManifest program.
