Farm Equipment Group Says TPP 'Unique Opportunity' For Canadian Ag

A national agri-business group suggests the Trans Pacific Partnership is a unique opportunity for Canada's agriculture industry.

Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada President Leah Olson says her members are keen to have it ratified.

Olson took part in a recent roundtable on the TPP with the Parliamentary Secretary for International Trade in Saskatchewan.

She says her members products compete with the best on the world market.

Olson also expressed support for two federal programs - the Scientific Research and Experimental Development program and the Industrial Research Assistance Program.

According to her, both programs are driving innovation in the agricultural sector.

The Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada describes itself as a national organisation with a mandate to sustain a strong, viable and highly respected Canadian agricultural manufacturing industry.
