CFA Calls For 'Farm To Table' Approach On Industry Issues

Canadian Federation of Agriculture President Ron Bonnett says a farm to table approach is needed when making decisions affecting Canadian farm and food.

That was reflected in the theme of the C-F-A's recent annual meeting - Building Trust, Farm to Table.

Bonnett says the Ottawa meeting brought the farm community together to develop policy solutions and build partnerships to help move towards collective success as an industry.

Federation delegates approved 37 resolutions at the meeting.

They covered issues ranging from climate change to rural infrastructure to risk management.

The CFA Board has also approved a detailed set of recommendations for the next Agricultural Policy Framework.

Bonnett says the federation will continue to work to ensure decision makers are aware of industry's recommendations and the suite of solutions developed.
