February Pork Donations Top 65 Thousand Servings

Ontario Pork provided over 65 thousand servings of pork to needy people in the province in February.

The donation was distributed through 73 food banks across Southwestern and Central Ontario.

Sofina Foods and Leadbetter Foods processed the pork.

Carolyn Stewart of the Ontario Association of Food Banks calls the Ontario Pork support absolutely priceless.

The Ontario pork industry launched the Friends of the Food Bank program in 2013.

It's raised over 120 thousand dollars for provincial food banks since then.

This year's goal is 100 thousand dollars.

Ontario Pork has agreed to match what's raised.
