Ontario 4-H'ers Compete In U-K Beef Show

Three Ontario 4-H members finished about the middle of the pack at the recent Young Show Stars beef competition in the U-K.

The team included Bailey McConnell from Kincardine, Alexa Avelar from East Garafraxa and Megan Foubert from Kemptville.

They were selected to the team based on their showing at last fall's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

Organisers of the United Kingdom event tell us the trio was 8th overall out of 18 in the clipping section of the competition and 11th out of 18 beef teams overall.

One show spokesperson emphasized U-K exhibitors show and present cattle differently than how it's done in Canada so they were duly impressed with how well the Ontario competitors did.
