Empty Seed, Pesticide Bag Recycling Available In Ontario

Ontario farmers can return empty seed and pesticide bags after they've finished planting this spring.

CleanFARMS is running the program.

It's free to farmers.

Spokesman Barry Friesen says free collection bags are available at Ontario retailers.

Once the seed or pesticide bags are completely empty, farmers can put them in the collection bag and return that the next time they head to a participating retailer.

Collections take place from May through September.

A list of collection sites is on the website CLeanFARMS.ca.

CleanFARMS is a not-for-profit industry stewardship organisation.
