U-S Farmers Ahead Of Average With Spring Planting

U-S corn, soybean and spring wheat planting are all running ahead of the five-year average.

Corn is 14 points ahead, soybeans 7 and spring wheat 26 points ahead of the average.

The USDA's latest Weekly Crop Progress Report has the winter wheat crop at 62 per cent good to excellent.

That's up one point from the week before and 18 points better than at this time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
