Staying On Top Of Cattle Pain Science

A new online resource has been set up to help beef producers stay on top of the science of pain control.

The Beef Cattle Research Council has set up the site to give producers information about the science, the incentives, the Beef Code of Practice requirements and practical pain control options.

The Council says pain control and prevention are becoming more popular among producers as the scientific knowledge grows and more pain control products become available.

Spokesperson Tracy Herbert says the online resources include videos of beef producers talking about why and how they use pain control in their operations.

The resource is part of the Beef Cattle Research Council's website.

Herbert says one of the main reasons behind a new on-line resource for beef producers dedicated to pain control in their animals is to help producers stay on top of the science.
