Wellington Farmer Leaves, Perth Farmer Joins AMI Board

A Perth County poultry producer is one of three new directors for the Agri-Food Management Institute this year.

Ed Verkley joins Laurie Nicol and Jean-Marc Beneteau as new AMI directors.

Verkley is Chair of the Poultry Industry Council, Nicol is Executive Director of the Ontario Independent Meat Processors and Beneteau is a specialty soybean and grains producers.

Two directors are leaving.

One is Wellington County sheep farmer and former CFFO President Lorne Small.

The other is one of the institute's past chairs, Brenda Lammens.

Both Small and Lammens had been with the institute since its inception.

The Agri-Food Management Institute promotes new ways of thinking about agribusiness management.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
