Seeking Retail, Food Service And Other Input On Beef Sustainability

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef is encouraging other stakeholders to get involved in the project.

The group describes itself as a multi-stakeholder organisation focused on advancing sustainability efforts in the Canadian beef industry.

The main project right now is developing a meaningful Sustainable Sourcing Framework.

That framework is being organised around five global principles for sustainable beef.

Those include natural resources, people and the community, animal health and welfare, food, and efficiency and innovation.

Working on the framework began in the fall of 2015 and is expected to be completed in 2017.

The CRSB wants all retail and food service companies, supply chain stakeholders and other interested parties to join the effort.
