Bean Growers Group Signs Deal To Extend Producer Dollars

The Chair of the Ontario Bean Growers says it's an arrangement that will extend producer dollars into more areas than in the past.

Jim Gowland is commenting on OBG's deal with Koeslag Consulting.

The deal will see KCI perform the administrative duties of the organisation .

The company already manages administration for Mushrooms Canada and the Ontario Agricultural Commodity Council.

KCI's Ryan Koeslag says the arrangement leverages efficiencies by sharing administrative resources.

He suggests an example of that could be the adaptation of promotions and marketing KCI has already done for Mushrooms Canada into something that can also be used by the Ontario Bean Growers.

OBG represents the interests of Ontario farmers that grow dry edible beans.

It's core work is in research and market development.
