100 Year Old Huron County Barn Saved From Flames

Firefighters have saved a 100 year old bank barn near Bluevale.

Electrical grinding equipment apparently ignited straw in the basement of the barn.

Fire officials say heavy smoke was showing when fire crews arrived just before 5 yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters from North Huron's Wingham and Blyth stations, Howick and the South Bruce Fire Department spent 3 hours putting the fire out and removing the straw from that Bluevale-area barn.

There's no damage estimate at this time.
