FCC Recognized For Food Banks Work

Farm Credit Canada received one of this year's Food Banks Canada Innovator of the Year Awards

FCC provided the funding and research for Food Banks Canada to develop a way to determine the impact of a single dollar invested to help the food bank network.

FCC also runs an annual Drive Away Hunger campaign to drive donations to food banks across the country.

Foodservice and support services company Compas Group Canada won the other Innovator of the Year Award.

Food Banks Canada also gave it's Award of Excellence to Walmart Canada and its 2016 Donor of the Year award to Bestseller, whose on-line and in-store staff helped raise over 250 thousand dollars for food banks in 2015.

Food Banks Canada supports a network of over 3 thousand food-related organisations in every province in territory that assists close to 850 thousand Canadains every month.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
