U-S Corn, Soybeans Over 70 Per Cent Good To Excellent

No significant change in the condition of the U-S corn crop over the past week.

The 75 per cent good to excellent rating the same as it was a week ago, 2 points better than last year.

Soybean's moved up a couple of points to 74 per cent good to excellent - 7 points better than a year ago.

That's with 92 per cent of the crop planted.

That planting rate is 5 points better than the five year average, 7 points better than a year ago.

The USDA says 11 per cent of the winter wheat has been harvested, 7 points behind the average.

That crop is rated 61 per cent good to excellent - down a point from a week ago, still 18 points ahead of last year.

And this week's U-S Crop Progress Report says the American spring wheat crop is 70 per cent good to excellent - same as last week - 9 points better than this time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
