Ontario Pork Congress Boasts Record Exhibitor Numbers For 2016

Next week's Ontario Pork Congress is expecting between 2 thousand and 25 hundred people to attend.

Congress President Blair Cressman calls the Stratford event a celebration of pork and the pork industry.

This is the 43rd year for the Ontario Pork Congress.

This year's trade show will have a record number of Canadian and international exhibitors.

The annual Hog Jog goes opening night, June 22nd.

It includes a family friendly 3 point 5 kilometer walk or jog, a 10 kilometer run course and a 500 meter 'weaner run' for children six and under.

Proceeds from this year's Hog Jog go to Stratford/Perth Shelterlink, which provides at risk and homeless youth with shelter, food, advocacy services and basic needs.

The Bacon Maker Classic on on day two - Thursday.

It's a live hog event showcasing the next generation of pork producers' knowledge, skills and showmanship.

The Ontario Pork Congress runs June 22nd and 23rd at the Stratford Rotary Complex in Stratford.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
