Still Jobs Available For IPM 2016 Volunteers

The 2016 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo still has spots available for volunteer help.

Spokesperson Kelly Ward says they're looking for a wide range of skillsets to help out with this year's event.

"There's opportunities ranging from planning and marketing through administration or actually volunteering at tented city as well as throughout special events coming up leading up to the match and during the match."

More details are on the website - plowingmatch.org - including forms to indicate where your interests are to help line up people with the jobs available.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
