Grey County Man Heads Re-Vamped FFCO Executive

Meaford-area apple grower Brian Gilroy is the new Chair of Farm & Food Care Ontario.

Gilroy takes over from John Maaskant, who's been Farm & Food Care Ontario's chair since it's inception in 2012.

His vice-chair is Christine Schoonderwoerd of Mitchell.

Sandi Brock joins the executive as secretary-at-large while Jim Gowland of Holyrood is now treasurer.

Other directors either elected or re-elected at the organisation's recent annual meeting include Bruce Christie, Heather Copland, Dave McEachren, Les Nichols, Gerald Rollins and Peter van Sleeuwen.

Farm & Food Care Ontario is a coalition of farmers, agriculture and food partners working to ensure public trust and confidence in food and farming.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
