U-S Farmers Have Record Numbers Of Hogs On Farm

U-S farmers had more hogs on their farms on June 1st than they've had since at least 1964.

That was the year the USDA started keeping total hog inventories.

The June 1st U-S inventory of all hogs and pigs was 68 point 4 million - up 2 per cent from a year ago.

Breeding inventory was up 1 per cent, market hogs up 2 per cent.

The March to May pig crop was up 3 per cent from 2015.

U-S hog producers farrowing intentions for the June-August quarter are down 2 per cent from the same period's actual farrowings in 2015.

The September-November farrowing intentions are down 1 per cent from last year.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
