SW Ontario Crop Advisor Wins North American Award

Another award for Dale Cowan.

He's been named the International Certified Crop Adviser's Adviser of the Year.

Cowan is a senior agronomist and sales manager with Agris and Wanstead Cooperatives .

In his 35 year career he has advised growers on corn, soybeans and wheat as well as cucumbers, watermelons and tomatoes.

AGRIS General Manager Jim Campbell says Cowan has also been instrumental in the development and promotion of sustainable agronomy and precision farming practices throughout Ontario.

The award is given annually by the American Society of Agronomy to recognize a certified crop advisor who delivers exceptional customer service, is highly innovative and has shown they are a leader in their field.

The Society also looks for someone who has contributed substantially to the exchange of ideas and the transfer of agronomic knowledge within the agriculture industry.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
