Farm & Food Care's New National Chair From Southwestern Ontario

A fifth-generation egg, beef and grain farmer from the Dutton area of Southwestern Ontario is the new chair of Farm & Food Care Canada.

Ian McKillop takes over from Bruce Christie, who's been Farm & Food Care Canada's chair since its inception in 2010.

McKillop has been on the charity's board since 2010.

His vice chair for the coming year is John Geurtjens, a vice-president with Farm Credit Canada.

Gwen Paddock is the new treasurer.

She's with the Royal Bank.

Both Paddock and Geurtjens work out of Guelph.

Farm & Food Care Canada is a national charity with the mandate to build public trust in Canadian agriculture and food.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
