Funding To Help Develop Key International Beef Markets

The federal government is putting up to 6 point 4 million dollars into Canada Beef over the next three years.

The money will support the organisation's three -year market development and promotion plan targeting key regional hubs in Asia, Europe , North America and Latin America.

Canada Beef Chair Jack Hextall says the funding is critical to positioning the industry for long term growth and success in those lucrative markets.

Canada Beef is the cattle producer funded and run organisation responsible for domestic and international beef and veal market development.

Federal figures show the beef industry exported 2 point 2 billion dollars worth of product to 58 countries last year.

The industry also contributes 33 billion dollars worth of sales of goods and services either directly or indirectly to the Canadian economy.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
