Loblaw Reports Lower Retail Food Sales Growth In Second Quarter

Loblaw says it brought in almost 2 per cent more revenue in the second quarter than in the same quarter last year.

Its Shoppers Drug Mart same store sales growth was 4 per cent while it's second quarter same-store food retail growth was 0 point 7 per cent.

That food retail growth was lower than its second quarter same-store growth of 3 point 3 per cent in 2015.

The company says the timing of Easter was responsible for about a one per cent drop in that revenue.
