National Award For U of G Dairy Researcher

A University of Guelph researcher is this year's winner of the Canadian Society of Animal Science Animal Industries Award in Extension and Public Service.

Doctor Trevor DeVries is a Canada Research Chair in Dairy Cattle Behaviour and Welfare and an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Biosciences at Guelph.

His research has focused on dairy cow feeding behaviour and ruminant nutrition.

The award recognizes outstanding service to the animal industries of Canada in technology transfer, leadership and education in animal production.

The award is co-sponsored by the Canadian Pork Council, Chicken Farmers of Canada and the Dairy Farmers of Canada.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
