U-S Crop Conditions Holding Steady, Winter Wheat Harvest Nearing Completion

No change in the condition of the U-S corn and spring wheat crop over the past week.

Corn remains at 76 per cent good to excellent - spring wheat at 68 per cent.

The condition of the U-S soybean crop slipped a point to 72 per cent.

Corn and soybeans are better than they were a year ago - spring wheat 2 points behind last year.

The USDA reports the American spring wheat harvest has begun, with 10 per cent of the crop off so far - 1 point ahead of the five year average.

The U-S winter wheat crop is 89 per cent harvested - 3 points ahead of the five year average, 2 points behind where it was a year ago.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
