U of G Swine Professor Passes

A University of Guelph professor well-known in the swine industry has died.

Professor Kees de Lange was a professor of swine nutrition in the University's Department of Animal Biosciences.

De Lange started at the University in 1994.

He received a number of awards for his work - including the 2010 Canadian Society of Animal Science Excellence in Nutrition and Meat Quality award and the 2012 American Feed Industry Association Award in Non-ruminant Nutrition Research.

De Lange was also the 2013 recipient of the Ontario Agricultural College Alumni Association Distinguished Extension Award.

Kees de Lange died on August 1st.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
