USDA Crop Progress Report Recap

The condition of America's corn crop is slightly up from a week ago.

The USDA's rated 75 per cent of corn good to excellent, that's up 1 point from last week and 6 points better than a year ago.

Soybean ratings are unchanged from last week at 72 - up 9 per cent from 2015.

The U.S. spring wheat harvest is now almost two-thirds complete.

That's four points behind last year but 19 per cent ahead of the five-year average.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
