Team Bruce Big at Canadian Plowing Championships

A Bruce County plowman has his sight set on Kenya following a victory at the Canadian Plowing Championships.

Tom Evans of Tiverton took the title in the Senior Reversible category this past weekend in Ottawa.

The Team Bruce competitor netted 681 points over the three day contest.

Shawn Ryan of Dashwood was the reserve Junior Champion.

Jay Lennox of Ayton competed for Alberta and won the Conventional Senior category.

Brian McGavin of Walton finished five points back and is the Reserve Canadian Champ.

Evans can be seen at the upcoming Bruce County Plowing match on Friday.

The two-day World Plowing Championship takes place in Kenya in 2017.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
