Funding for Ontario Wheat Researchers

Ontario grain researchers are getting funding through the Alberta Wheat Commission.

The AWC has set aside 720 thousand dollars for five research projects across multiple research stations throughout Ontario and Alberta.

They say their goal is to help producers use innovation to improve profitability and yields.

Research will include hail damage management practices, water use effeciency, technology testing, and ways to use new tools to improve wheat yields in varying conditions.

The commission adds it has leveraged an additional 623 thousand in funding from partnerships with 13 other organizations.

AWC says farmers can look forward to research updates in the near future on their website, albertawheat.com.
