Minister of Agriculture Heading To India

The first Agri-Food Trade Mission to India will take place this fall.

Jeff Leal, Minister of Agriculture and Michael Chan, Minister of International trade announced the trip yesterday.

They're hoping to create new economic opportunities for Ontario's agri-food industry.

Leal says as the world's third largest economy, India is a new market for many of Ontario's exporters and remains an immense opportunity for the province's agri-food sector.

The two ministers are to be joined by representatives from Canadian commodity groups, food and beverage processors and other trade organizations.

The agri-food trade mission to India will take place from November 13th to the 20th.
