PED Case Confirmed In Manitoba

Manitoba's provincial government has confirmed another case of PED.

The confirmation from the September 14th test was Manitoba's first in over three months.

All positive tests in the province since 2014 have been located in the southeast near the U.S. border.

Many Canadian pork producers are concerned that commercial U.S. washes still have the virus.

Manitoba's hog industry wants the CFIA to reverse its decision made earlier this summer to resume truck washes in the U.S.

Ontario's last confirmed case of PED was on June 30th in Huron County.
