Soybean Exports Benefit From China Trade

Soy Canada says China's growing market for soybeans is an excellent opportunity for growers in Canada.

The country is the fifth largest exporter of soybeans in the world.

And while Canada can't fill China's entire 80-million ton need for the crop, Soy Canada's Executive Director Jim Everson, says it's an opportunity to set themselves apart from other exporters.

"We have an excellent record for quality and quality assurance in Canada," Everson tells CKNX. "We have a very strong infrastructure and very strong regulatory agency overseeing the work that we do and great farmers as well."

Canada’s market for soybeans was valued at over $580 million in 2015, an increase of 22% since 2012.
