OMAFRA Critic in Favour of Thompson's Bill 4

The Critic to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is in favour of Bill 4, the Supporting Agricultural Experts in Their Field Act.

Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett says science-based research and expert opinions are critical when deciding which pesticides to use.

He also pointed out during debate that several comments from agrologists last year were misconstrued by the minister.

Barrett wants a commitee with an open agenda to discuss the matter further.

He feels regulation 63/09 questions the professional integrity of the current 538 advisors.

Bill 4 recently passed the second reading at Queen's Park.
