U.S. Corn and Soybean Harvest Falling Behind

According to the USDA, 15 per cent of America's corn has been harvested.

That's 1 point behind last year's pace and 4 back of the most recent five-year average.

U.S. soybeans are now 10 per cent off, which is 7 per cent back of last year and 3 behind the five-year average.

The department says the condition of the soybean crop remains the same as last week at 73 per cent good to excellent. That's an 11 per cent better rating than a year ago.

The corn crop is still holding at 74 per cent good to excellent. That's a six point improvement on last year.

The USDA also notes 30 per cent of winter wheat has been planted, which is right on par with the last five years.
