American Cattle on Feed Up From Last Year

The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service says the amount of American cattle in feedlots to start September is up a full per cent from last year, now at 10.1 million head.

Placements in feedlots during the month of August hit 1.88 million.

The service notes that's up more than 15 per cent from 2015.

Net placements were 1.84 million as 41,000 head were recorded for disappearance.

NASS also report marketings of fed cattle for the month of August to be 1.87 million, an increase of 18 per cent from a year ago.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
