Deere Nearing Completion Of Precision Planting Acquisition

Deere and Company has found a way to complete its acquisition of Precision Planting from the Climate Corporation.

Deere will allow Ag Leader, a precision agriculture competitor, to offer products which are currently sold by Precision Planting.

Nearly two years ago, Deere signed a definitive agreement to buy Precision Planting's equipment business.

However in August, the acquisition was halted by the U.S. Department of Justice who cited competitive imbalance as its reason for doing so.

Deere says the new agreement will help enhance innovation and competition.

The company adds they anticipate Ag Leader will sell Precision Planting products which can be retrofitted to many kinds of planters, including those of John Deere.
