Grey County Federation Of Agriculture AGM Recap

42 guests attend last week's Grey County Federation of Agriculture Annual General Meeting.

At the Markdale Golf and Curling club, guest speaker Tyler Whale gave a presentation about future opportunities to grow agriculture.

He added boosting the sector won't be easy as the farm population continues to shrink while a growing population is becoming trickier to feed.

Paul Wettlaufer shared the activities of the OFA for the past year before he was recognized with a gift for his many years of service as an OFA representative to the GCFA Board.

Mike Ryan was declared President for 2016-2017.

Hugh Simpson and Paul DeJong are 1st and 2nd Presidents respectively.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
