NFU Supportive of Wallonian President

National Farmers Union President Jan Slomp is supporting the resistance shown by Wallonian Minister-President Paul Magnette to the proposed CETA deal.

Slomp says the NFU is with those on both sides of the Atlantic who understand that the agreement is more about power than trade.

He points out Canada and Europe have been trading throughout our entire history, thus CETA is not needed.

NFU is still concerned about how the agreement was negotiated behind closed doors without proper democratic debate.
