New Entrant Chicken Farmer Deadline Nears

The deadline for application to enter the 2017 New Entrant Chicken Farmer Program is nearly here.

The Chicken Farmers of Ontario say the program has provided a successful entry point for new farming families since it began in 2012, in what is a supply-managed system.

President and CEO Rob Dougans says he's been extremely pleased with the caliber of applicants for the program.

He adds maintaining a strong community of young farmers ensures the chicken sector will remain vibrant for years to come.

The deadline for applications to the 2017 New Entrant Chicken Farmer Program is October 31st.
