Poultry Production on the Rise

Beef and pork aren't the only meats hitting record numbers for production.

Statistics Canada reports poultry to be on the rise as well.

Placements of hatchery chicks for the month of September rose by 2.7 per cent from 2015.

Stocks of frozen poultry meat totalled 86, 900 tonnes at the end of the month, up 14.8 per cent from a year ago.

StatsCan also notes egg production for August hit 62.7 million dozen.

That's a bump of nearly 7 per cent from the same time last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
