Grey Bruce Student Nutrition Program Gets $10,000

The Grey Bruce Student Nutrition Program has received funding from DuPont Pioneer.

$10,000 has been donated through the seed company's Full Belly! Full Mind! initiative.

Beverlee Gateman, Program Manager for Grey Bruce's nutrition program, says 40 per cent of elementary and 65 per cent of secondary school students in the two counties go to school each day without the benefit of a healthy breakfast.

She notes the funding will help provide breakfasts for 13,000 students in 73 schools.

Pioneer makes contributions each year through outreach programs to communities where Pioneer customers and employees live and work.

Account manager Troy Hamilton says the company is happy to aid the well-being of children in its communities, ensuring future leaders can learn to their full potential.
