Sheep Farmers Form National Sheep Network

Canadian sheep farmers have formed a new group with the purpose of moving the sheep industry forward.

The Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency, the Alberta Lamb Producers and Quebec's sheep and mutton producers make up the new National Sheep Network.

The three clubs cover 75 per cent of Canada's current ewe-flock.

OSMA chair Rob Scott says the purpose of the new network is to formalize the relationship the three groups already have.

He adds the group is willing to work with any other organization from other provinces to benefit the industry.

The network will join the Canadian Federation of Agriculture as a new member on January 1st.
