Clinton Farmer Finds Success In Royal's Dairy Show

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair's dairy shows were dominated by Quebec and the Northern United States.

However, one Huron County Farmer broke through in the Jersey competition.

Paul Franken of Clinton won the Jersey Ontario Banner, the Australian Trophy and the Westlandyn Farms Banner for his mature cow.

His showing also earned Reserve Senior Champion Female, the Reserve Senior Champion Female Banner, and Reserve Grand Champion Female.

A cow from Wisconsin was named Grand Champion Jersey. Later in the day she was named the Royal's Supreme Champion for the second year in a row.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
