Harvests Near Full Completion

A month ago it didn't seem possible, but soybean harvest south of the border is almost fully complete.

The USDA reports 97 per cent of the current crop to be off the field. That's right on pace with last fall and 2 points above the five-year average.

The department also points out corn harvest is now 93 per cent finished. While two per cent behind last year, the current clip is a notch faster than usual.

Winter wheat in the U.S. is now 94 per cent planted, which is a little behind usual.

Right on par with the five-year average, 84 per cent has emerged.

The USDA rates what is up at 59 per cent good to excellent. That's one per cent better than last week's rating and 7 points higher than this time last year.
