U.S. Corn Harvest Also Complete

A week after declaring soybean harvest to be complete, the USDA has done the same with the 2016 crop of corn.

The department credits a balmy November for the successful harvests after both looked dubious at the end of September.

Now looking towards next year, the USDA reports 92 per cent of winter wheat has emerged.

That's right on par with last year and the five-year average.

The 2017 crop is currently rated at 58 per cent good to excellent.

The rating is steady with last week's, which is three points better than last year at this time.
