Value Of Pork Exports Up This Year

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada report the total amount of pork exported from here to be up by 6.9 per cent from this time last year.

The total value of the meat is up by 11.7 per cent, hitting 2.79 billion dollars at the end of November.

Fresh and frozen pork imports for the country over that time have increased by 1.2 per cent from 2015.

AAFC notes total imports are down by 0.4 per cent.

Pork prices at the end of November for Ontario were down 7 and half per cent from a year ago.

The organization points out the decrease is about half that of the national average.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
