Poultry Producer Update Returns Next Week

The Poultry Industry Council's Poultry Producer Update in Brodhagen is now just a week away.

PIC Education and Extension Programs Manager Laura Bowers says many topics will be touched on throughout the eighth edition of the event.

"We've got Bill Revington from New Life Mills' farm division coming out. He'll be talking about different management aspects that farmers will encounter with the different systems," says Bowers.

"He'll give the pros and the cons and how farmers can work with those new systems. And what to consider if they might be thinking about changing housing systems in the near future."

She adds other speakers will cover social media, insurance and modular loading.

Dr. Marina Brash of the Animal Health Lab in Guelph will also be on hand to discuss current poultry health issues and diseases.

The December 14th event will also include updates from both OMAFRA and the PIC.

Registration can be done online at www.poultryindustrycouncil.ca for $55 or $70 at the door.
