Ontario Commodity Prices Moving In Many Directions

Ontario farmers had widely varying results across commodities in the month of October.

Statistics Canada reports cattle prices declined by 24 per cent from 2015, while hog prices dipped by 21 points.

Lamb producers saw a 4 per cent bump in prices.

Chicken prices stayed even for the year and egg prices were up by 1 cent per dozen.

After 4 straight months of decline through the summer, milk prices in October were up 4 points from 2015.

StatsCan also notes year-over-year soybean prices were up by 10 per cent.

Corn was down 1 point. Wheat prices dropped by 24 per cent.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
