DFC Pleased With Nutrition Symposium

The Dairy Farmers of Canada says it's pleased to have been a host for this year's Symposium on Nutrition and Health.

The 16th annual running of the symposium was presented across the country to large crowds in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Moncton.

Four speakers addressed dietary trends and topics, including the importance of dairy products in Canadian diets.

A member of Queen's University and another from Laval addressed the issue of high fat dairy products and cardiometabloic diseases.

They're both calling for a re-evaluation of public health recommendations on the matter, as fat is often viewed as a negative, when it's actually an important part of a health balaced diet.

DFC notes the symposium can be viewed online at www.dairynutrition.ca.
