Huron County's IPM Team Ready To Launch New Website

It's a brand-new year and the 2017 International Plowing Match has a brand-new website.

www.hcproud.com will launch on Monday.

The Huron County IPM team says the site will showcase one farm family from each of the nine municipalities that make up the county, unveiling one each month until the rural expo begins in September.

They add things are beginning to intensify as the hosts prepare for the 100th IPM and Canada's 150th birthday.

2017 IPM Chair Jacquie Bishop says visitors are booking overnight accommodations for the five-day fair.

She estimates by exploring nearby restaurants, stores and towns, the economic impact from hosting has the potential to top twenty million dollars.

The IPM executive committee is also in the process of purchasing signage, materials and food, further stimulating the local economy.
